Angel, born and bred in Sevilla, studied English language and literature at University. He has travelled extensively in the UK, USA, Canada and Ireland and is passionate about history, art and Spanish culture along with his addiction to sport, the open air and great food to recharge the batteries. Always looking to learn, he is not afraid to turn his hand to anything and has been responsible for the majority of improvements we have made here. He loves being able to transmit his knowledge and love for the area, probably because of all those years as a teacher.
Lucy, born and bred in Bolton, studied hotel catering management in Blackpool, not knowing that this or the failed Spanish O level would ever come in useful! Food and cooking, walking and travel are her hobbies and so far things are going to plan. Fully integrated into the Spanish culture she realises that feeling part of village life is really important, although the morning cuppa can never be missed, unless it’s chocolate for the churros on Saturday morning!
The two of us met when working in the same hotel in the USA in 1988 and have lived in both Sevilla and the UK over the years. The idea of running a hotel together was planted when we spent a few weeks holiday in this beautiful village in 1998 and found the Posada. Not until 2003 did our dream come true when we successfully applied for the concession of the hotel. In January 2004 we moved to Alajar from the UK having been there for only 2 years in a 10 year plan! We have spent the first year dedicated to renovating the hotel and bringing it up to a standard which we are happy with. We now hope to spend more time enjoying the results of our labours and providing our guests with a memorable holiday.
On June 1st 2006 the storks presented us with our beautiful daughter Sofía Inés.
